Your Soul's Food-ACIM Lesson 11

My meaningless thoughts are showing me a meaningless world.

What is important to you? No really. What are some of the most important things you value in your life?

It is tail end of the holiday season in the Midwest and this morning I received a gift. An unexpected one. My new cat. The one who used to live in a bush. Brought me a vole.

Yipes.

Putting aside the yuck factor. This cat had lived all of its short life outdoors. Scrounging for food, shelter, clean water, and a break from the cold in ways that I have never had to.

We brought this sweet little guy in just a few months ago. And now he is giving us the only gift he knows how to give in gratitude. The very food he used to need to survive.

To this cat, I’m sure that food is very important to him. He never seems to, understandably, get enough. And he may be afraid the gravy train might wear off.

Rest assured. It won’t.

But he doesn’t know that. And still he gives. What is most important to him.

What is important to you, my friends? What do you consider essential to survive? Is it the meaningless things of this world? Or is something more your soul’s food?

Lesson 11 suggests we take a look at everything we thought we knew and choose again. All of the possessions and the ambitions. Which ones are truly important?

After examining, comes a peace which passes all understanding when we discover the things we most often worry about, (dishes, washing machines breaking, cars that need oil changes or parts) are really just a drop in the bucket compared to the love we can give.

What is important to you today, my sweet friends? Take a deep look to find tranquility within.

Namaste Light Chaser.
