Ba Humbug...

Peace be to me, the holy Son of God. Peace to my brother, who is one with me. Let all the world be blessed with peace through us. -ACIM

All in all I consider myself to be a pretty positive person. Most days I’m fairly optimistic.

But some days….say when the cat pukes on the floor, there seems to be 10 loads of laundry to do, and the counter is riddled with dishes I get…well I get irritated. Especially when I have a plan of action for tackling said projects that falls through.

I am attached to my routine.

I don’t know when I’ll fit it all in. I worry. I him. And haw.

And you know what-it gets done anyway. Even if I have to postpone taking the laundry out of the dryer for a week (or re-wash the laundry because I forgot it was in the washer), it eventually works itself out. And then I’ve used the energy I could have been using to do something I love-worrying about something I don’t.

I think it’s natural to sometimes live in a world of probabilities. To not know what can happen next. Especially when our routines get disturbed or we don’t know what will happen next-or if it will happen at all.

But there’s an alternative I sometimes don’t even consider. That something amazing could happen instead.

And when I let go of the story of how things should be (i.e. Do laundry at 10, put away at 10:30, Dishes at….you get the idea). I can find the story of all that is possible.

And it is, as Lesson 360 states, quite possible that I could live a world of peace instead of worry. That this peace can rub off, like a scratch & sniff sticker, to someone else who needs it.

When I can remember to carry this peace with me everywhere. When I can transcend my worries and find the humor and excitement that comes with life, even in this busy season. Well that is the true essence of Peace on Earth.

Because it starts with me.

Here’s to a more peaceful holiday season my dear friends. One where you know that shopping, and dishes and cat puke don’t define you. But that beautiful light within sure does. And the world is a better place when you let it shine. Shine on LightChaser!
