ACIM Rewind: The Gremlins in Our Mind-Lesson #106

Updated: Apr 23, 2023

Let me be still and listen to the truth. [W-p1.106.10.1]

In the popular 1984 film Gremlins, Randall Peltzer looks for a special gift for his son for Christmas.

He spies the adorable (pictured) mogwai and decides this would be the perfect present for his son Billy. It’s adorable. It’s fuzzy. It’s cuddly. And Billy loves the mogwai. Who he names Gizmo.

But there’s a catch….no water for these critters.

I won’t give away the plot But there's a reason for the desert rule (aka no water). The water multiplies the mogwai exponentially.

Lesson 105 states that Source’s gifts of peace and joy are very much like mogwai on water. They multiply the more often we give them. We have all heard about the glorious lines of Starbucks patrons, paying for the next car down the line. This is a minute example of how the gifts we give can become a contagion of love and happiness. And we are, indeed, all the richer for giving them.

Lesson 105 invites us to remember that worldly gifts have traditionally come with a price. Interest due, which engender a spirit of fear and lack. But the gifts from Source-aka peace and joy-are limitless. And they multiply faster than a mogwai on water.

It begins with creation. With touching into the source of the co-creative being that you are in truth to produce the gifts that are only yours to give. It may be a smile. It may be picking up that tiny piece of trash. Or it may be being present as a listening ear a friend needs to get by. You will know it when it presents itself. And it is uniquely yours to give.

Lesson 105 asks us to give this gift indiscriminately to all. Especially to those who have the most difficulty receiving. Ask that they may be happy, well, and at peace. See the gifts of Source reflected back in their eyes.

The return on this investment is abundant. Eternal.

Lesson 105 invites us to lift the veil of any delusion of hate. To stop any Gremlins (aka bad mogwai) we have created in our minds from multiplying. To create from joy instead.

What we give we receive, what we receive we give. Let it be yours today dear friends. Co-creating with abundant peace and love for one-another.

Namaste
