Above all else, I want to see things differently.
Lesson 28 is another of my ACIM (A Course in Miracles) greatest hits. It is a go-to for me when things get a little heavy in life.
When I get triggered by big, important things. Like the dishes on the counter, or the stack of mail piling up on my counter.
It asks that I simply ask to see things differently. And assures me that the Universe will serve up a different perspective lickety-split.
Because, when I see the mail or the dishes, I am really just attaching my story of being “messy” or “imperfect”. Labels that mean something to me from my history. Rather than the beauty of what is. (i.e. actually having dishes to eat on, or money to pay my bills).
Lesson 28 says there is more than, you guessed it, meets the eye to most of the things we attach historical labels to. And it invites us to ask for the happiness and hope that is really there. Hiding, just beneath the surface of our perceptions. By asking for what is, we create a clean slate for our higher self to intervene.
To show us how all of our experiences are interwoven in a Unity so heartbreakingly beautiful we can scarcely comprehend. Fragments of the stardust that seeds our souls in light and truth.
Today, you don’t have to understand stardust to use Lesson 28. You don’t even have to be able to muster up any hope or inspiration. All Lesson 28 suggests is that we ask to see things another way. To see things differently. Then let the magic of the Universe do the rest.
