Hope in the Darkness-ACIM Lesson 41

God goes with me wherever I go.

Yesterday was not a grand day. I felt tired. Anxious. Unseen. Unheard.

I moped around the house. For no reason at all.

Even the cats steered clear of my gloomy presence.

I just couldn’t get motivated. And this left me feeling invalidated. If I couldn’t DO who was I? Then the labels came. Lazy. Unsuccessful. Even self-doubt took a turn on my mind merry-go-round.

It made me feel lonely. It made me feel like I was the only person in the world to ever be unable to exit the funk.

Lesson 41 reminds me that when I seek external validation. When I look at the world as separate from me, instead of working with me, I invite my fears and depression into the playground of my monkey mind. The one that keeps talking and talking about what should be happening. Instead of living in what is. And I’m not going to sugar coat it-this is not always pretty.

The good news is that joy can be found simultaneously in the darkness. If we are all whole. If we are one. That means that joy lives with the heartache. That there is laughter with the sorrow. Love with fear.

And that deep within there is a source of Divine awareness and acceptance that goes with me no matter where I go, or how I’m feeling today. And it will never abandon me. The trick is to remember to refrain from abandoning myself.

If I can love myself anyway. If I can remove the judgement and the doubt that goes along with these feelings of separation and just allow myself to BE in the moment-my Divine joy will always shine through. Source will go with me wherever I go-even into the darkness.

Here’s to loving yourselves exactly where you are today my dear friends. You are Divinely perfect. United with a transcendent love in the Universe (even if you get grumpy, like me). And this perfection goes with you no matter where you go or what you do.

Namaste Dear Ones.
